Tuesday Night Art Class - for adults with intellectual disabilities. If you are an artist in any medium with teaching skills, we would like to talk with you about teaching this class. References are required as well as experience and samples of your work. If you are interested please call the Art Center. Classes are held on Tuesday's from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
Volunteers are also needed for this class as we like to have four or five helpers to assist with supplies, technique and break time when food is served. It is a rewarding experience mainly because it is a fun time. You'll love it! And you will absolutely be amazed at the quality of the artwork the students create.
Youth Art Classes: We would be interested in talking with anyone qualified to teach an art class. A degree in art is not necessary, only experience and samples of you artwork as well as references. Most classes are two hours in length. The Art League provides all materials and supplies. Contact the Art Center at 281-427-2222 for additional details.
Adult Art Classes in any medium - We are interested in offering classes in any medium. References are required as well as experience and samples of your work. We require lesson plans on how you will approach the class and what you expect each student to accomplish.
For all classes, we will require lesson plans and lists of materials needed and how many helpers you will need to make the class project a successful one.
Looking for A Watercolor Teacher
The Art Center currently has a large oil painting class that meets weekly on Tuesday from 10am-1pm. Several artists and customers have asked about starting a watercolor class. We are actively looking for a teacher to take charge of organizing and teaching beginning and advanced watercolor on a weekly basis.
The teacher will be asked to submit general lesson plans for approval, organizing and contacting a list of interested students, and handling room rental and fees. If you are interested in being a watercolor teacher, please contact the Art Center at 281 420-2222 for more information.

The Art League of Baytown has now become the official sponsor of the Shriner's Monthly Art Program. We plan a monthly art program at UTMB-Galveston that is project-oriented so that the patients get to take it back to their rooms. We are also planning an exhibit of the artwork which will be displayed on one of the floors of the hospital. If you are interested in volunteering for this worthy program, please contact Irene Adams 713 876-2141 or Luz Cantu 713 557-5272 for more information.
This class is for adults, age 21 and up, with mild to moderate cognitive delay. Right now the class is full. Please call the Art Center if you are interested in being added to the waiting list.
Every Friday starting at 10:00 am
This is a good time to paint, or work in whatever medium you choose, and enjoy the fellowship of other artists. If you don't have good lighting, want to get away from home distractions, or just want the fellowship, join us. We have coffee and bring a snack to share.

We have started a new gourd patch in this area so that members can learn how to sculpt and decorate beautiful gourds like the one Susan is holding in the photo. Meetings are the 3rd Saturday of the month at 10 AM . If you haven't done this before this is the time and place to learn everything you need to know about creating beautiful Gourd Art. In our January meeting we chose a name for our gourd patch and it is the Bay Area Gourd Patch. Please click the link below to get more information about our group.
