Art League member art is not only displayed at the Art Center. It is also displayed at the following places on a rotating basis. If you have visited our gallery and would like to see more or our artists work, please visit these extended sites!
Baytown Nature Center
A long time member of the Art League and good friend of the late Bobby Sutphin has generously donated some beautiful colored prints to the art center. These prints are "Ariel" and "Taeping" The Great Tea Race painted by Robert Moak, a well known artist from Baytown. Mr. Moak is recognized as one of the finest marine artists in the Country.
Anyone donating $50.00 or more to Bobby's scholarship fund will get a print. In addition to the print, they will get a short biography about the artist and also some history of his painting.
All money donated will go to the Bobby Sutphin scholarship fund.
A lot has been acomplished in the last few years toward sprucing up the Art Center but there is still much to be done. The next item on that agenda is to refurbish the back entrance that fronts onto Defee Street. Members, please consider making a donation for this much needed project. Any amount is greatly appreciated. Marsha and Ben Landers have offered to match any one donation plus $10 up to $500. Lubrizol, where Ben retired from, will match our donation. If your company also matches donations to charities, please take advantage of this. Make checks payable to the Art League of Baytown, note what the donation is for, and mail to 110 W. Texas Avenue, Baytown, Tx 77520; or leave it at the Art Center front desk. We will send you a letter acknowledging your tax deductible donation. If paying by credit card, please call or come by the Art Center during business hours: Wednesday-Friday 10am to 4pm and Saturday 10am to 1pm. A big thank you to our membership for any assistance in this fundraiser.

The Art League is fortunate to have the Art Center of Baytown as its home but with that comes bills as with any home, and so we have a variety of ways to raise the necessary funds to keep the doors open to the Art Center. Along with our workshops, classes, gallery space rental, donations, service hours earned and gallery sales, we plan other fundraisers like garage sales, art sales at our local mall, the Frito Pie and nachos sale held during the Christmas on Texas Avenue Event, Raffles and anything that helps us earn income. We are especially appreciative of all the volunteer hours our members contribute because without your help, these necessary funds would not happen. So thank you, members. This Art Center is for your use because you earned it!

HEB -- $500 Rising Stars Program
In November 2011, the Art League of Baytown Executive Board voted to sponsor an art class designed for adults with intellectual disabilities. This was in response to a query by Anita Pinkerton to one of our members, Julie Gilbert. Anita has a special needs brother. "Bubba" as he is affectionately called by his family had taken an art class in his previous place of residence and he enjoyed it and so following Anita's query, Julie brought the matter to our Board of Directors for consideration.
There are very few activities for this peer group once they graduate high school and so after discussion and some investigation into how much the program would cost, the Art League's Board voted to approve seed money to fund this program. We thought this would be a good service to our community while pursuing our organization's mission.
We have a strong Parent Support Group which the Art League greatly appreciates. The parents assist with fundraising ideas and help with achieving its goals. Currently, Julie Gilbert is liaison between the Art League's Executive Board and the Parent Support Group which meets monthly.
We are now in our second year and have a waiting list for students wanting to take the class. It is fun to be creative and it is even more enlightening to see the results of these truly gifted artists. We hope to expand our program to include more classes and students.
